Alongside an NHS trust, and other large organisations Eko UK was selected to participate as a case study for implementing the new BSI Standard for effective corporate governance. BS 13500 focuses on effective structures, relationships and accountability. Aimed at mitigating the risk of poor governance, the standard is a powerful baseline which can be used to implement and ensure effective governance. Working through the checklist, Eko learnt how to ensure that all elements of a good governance system are in place. As a result of everything we learned we are now also developing some incredibly useful governance assessment and benchmarking tools which we can't wait to tell you about soon.
